I got invited to join the next cover of “Whores of Mensa” by the lovely Ellen Lindner. The theme of this issue will be “the party” so I not only got invited to draw a portrait of myself but also to a big party. Turns out, I am not the life of the party lately, so this is what came around… by the way, if you want to see me in actual life, click here to see a picture of me looking concerned at the “Die Toten” (the Dead) blog. I contributed a zombie story to this new series by Zwerchfell. Guess what, it’s gonna be all about: Zombies. It’s gonna be epic I guess. If that’s not enough, come and pay me a visit in Erlangen at the Comic Salon. I’ll be at booth 94 most of the time.

Zum vierten Mal kommen Freunde und Kollegen nach Frankfurt, um mit mir unvorstellbare Comics vorzustellen. Das Konzept unserer Lesung ist einfach: Wir verzichten auf Projektion und überlassen es dem Publikum, sich die von uns vorgetragenen grafischen Werke im Kopf selbst zu zeichnen.  Von peinlichen Mädchen Mangas über bluttropfende Gespenstergeschichten bis hin zur nachdenklichen Graphic Novel haben wir alles dabei, was das Medium Comic zu bieten hat.

Diesmal (wieder) mit dabei: Carolin Walch, Naomi Fearn, Christian Maiwald, Jan und Stefan Dinter, Christopher Bünte und Tobi Dahmen.  Ort: Museum für Kommunikation, Schaumainkai  53, Frankfurt

Es geht los um 21 Uhr. Der Eintritt beträgt 4€ P.S.: Am Tag danach ist der erste Gratis Comic Tag. Ab in den Comicladen mit euch. Und außerdem noch: Phoebe Kreutz in Frankfurt. Aber dazu gleich mehr.

I just finished drawing 120 illustrations for a series of brochures which are somehow explaining to kids, what happens, when they get sick. After 120 illustrations you feel kind of connected even to characters you didn’t make up yourself… so instead of having the family being sick or/and worried all the time, I felt like I should also give them one good moment with no worries. Here it is….

Also I should probably tell you about the upcoming release of “Deutschland macht Dicht”, an adventurous and somehow political youth-story by Dietmar Dath, for which I gladly illustrated some of the highlights of the story. Following piece won’t be included in the book, so here’s your chance to see something like a ..erm… deleted portrait of the heroine Rosalie.

Since quite some time I’ve grown tired of using this blog and feel intrigued to start something new here at my little piwimonium. So I now decided to leave you for the rest of the year with some nice news, an invitation and the promise to be back in a different way, right here, a little while later.

I just try to get down from this years Book Fair in Frankfurt. I had a great time with all the lovely and beautiful artists from Zwerchfell and my friends from the other booths. The future looks bright ahead and I am enthused about future projects and stuff (most enthused about stuff, well…)

I also got ahold of my copy of Dietmar Dath’s book “Sie schläft” which shows a drawing of mine on the cover, for the first time ever. I haven’t got to read more than the first 20 pages of it, cause I was busy reading his next book, which I will do some work for. Again this feels more than exciting, since not only I really fell for the story but also found a great friend in it’s creator.

I’ll head of to New York soon to see some more friends (yup, there are even more), which I haven’t seen in quite a while, and look forward to get my head around some artistic issues I finally seem to get rid of. Wish me luck.

Brian and Brook of Brooklyn Tea Party invited me to show some of my stuff at an event on the 30th October. So, if you’re around… try to check me out. Dan Costello will play that night and some more lovely musicians who I’ll have yet to meet.

What else…? Lots, I guess. But this will have to wait for some other day.

In lack of time, just this: I will be at the Comicfestival in Munich starting tonight untill sunday! Meet me at the Zwerchfell booth. The Illustration above is a piece I did for a band called the Lovedrunks. They still need to pay me for it! (Sascha! Pay! Now!)

Nur noch wenige Tage, dann werden Officer Christian Maiwald, Les Messieurs Dinter, Mr. Eckart Breitschuh, Dr. Björn Wederhake und meine Wenigkeit im Museum für Kommunikation zu Frankfurt Comics vorlesen. Dabei verzichten wir auf jedwede Form der Projektion und überlassen alle Bilder den Köpfen der Zuhörer. Musikalisch wird der Abend untermalt von den wunderbaren Forest City Lovers aus Kanada. Es geht los um 21 Uhr.

I am currently working on a six-paged Zombie Comic. The scenario was created by Markus Hablizel, and since it’s been quite a while I put six pages together, I am really glad it’s working out for me. Life can be good!

Endlich ist wieder die Zeit gekommen, in der Phoebe Kreutz ihre sieben Akkorde packt und Deutschland betourt. Für das Konzert in Frankfurt poste ich hier mal den Flyer, den ich zusammengebastelt habe. Den Abend bestreiten neben der großartigen Frau Kreutz, Tjian and the Lovezombies und auf Wunsch von Phoebe persönlich greift auch Boo Hoo wieder in die Saiten und Gefühle.
